Castle Howard

Castle Howard

‘One of the World’s Top Ten Greatest Mansions and Grand Houses’   Lonely Planet’s 1000 ultimate sights.

When I was approached 3 years ago to help kick to start the weddings at Castle Howard I was incredibly excited and flattered.  This is, without a doubt, the feather in my cap and I am honoured and privileged to be the wedding co-ordinator of what is surely the most stunning, romantic and exclusive wedding venue in the North of England.

I probably don’t need to tell you that Castle Howard is one Yorkshire’s finest historic houses and incredibly my brides have exclusive use of the house with no ropes, barriers and entry signs in sight.

Licensed for civil ceremonies in the Great Hall, what could be more romantic than to exchange vows under the splendid painted dome while musicians play from the gallery above and figures from myth and legend look down. For smaller weddings (up to 60) the beautiful pavilion known as the Temple of the Four Winds is also available. Approached along a statue-lined lakeside terrace, this charming and highly exclusive venue commands impressive views at all four points of the compass and offers one the most romantic and stunning of wedding ceremony locations.

The Long Gallery exudes grandeur and elegance and is one of the very few dining rooms in Yorkshire that can accommodate up to 200 guests for exquisite, personally designed wedding breakfasts.

Reassuringly expensive, surprisingly affordable.
